how do i get rid of the cel light with no cat
i just put a ap mid pipe on and i already knowing that the cel light will come on. But i was told that you can trick the computer by either flashing the ecu, or getting a o2 sensor simulator. I have done my searching, but came up with no luck. Can anyone tell me what they have done because i hate to see the cel light on.:wallbash:

1) Work on your searching skills because this topic has been beaten to death.
2) AccessPORT is the only way to keep that code from generating a CEL. |
Put the CAT back on, get a high flow CAT, Black tape over the CEL light, or get a Cobb AP before they are all gone. That is about it, serious.
|
there is another way, use a false 02 sensor.

I already have. My mustang was running a straight pipe with a false 02 sensor and it ran beautifully. was a 427 bored, stroked, and fully blown.
|
That's a Mustang, the OP has an RX8...
Get it to work on an RX8 and then come back to tell us. You aren't the first person to think it'll work. |
expo1's response covered everything from cheapest way to the most expensive.

Yes because being a rotary engine makes it completely irelevant to the rules of engineering and ecm tricking. Its still an engine and transmission run to a cat with a pre and post sensor.

Our PCM is very smart, close to knight rider status this would work for like 2 or 3 days max. the fact that its a rotary has nothing to do with it.
It defeats piggyback ECUs after a few months. Option C is a racing beat tune. |
Yes, it is the Knight Rider ECU
Normally his logic would work concerning pollution, but he forgot the Brain. Knight Rider controls everything. |

I recall a while ago this guy got into an argument with us because he was so sure an O2 simulator would work too. He got upset when we told him the same thing, and gave us a history on his "super-smart" engineering skills. He tried to convince us that he could build a sensor himself and would prove us all wrong. Hell... I even supported him saying he could make a shit-ton of money if he ever figured it out and I hope he does. Needless to say... we still haven't heard back from him... So don't get irritated at us because we are trying to save you from wasting your money! |
You always sound smarter than me... I hate it, I need to finish my English courses.
