Hey guys. I finally got around to getting my walbro pump from BHR installed.
Me and my buddy just disassembled the fuel pump and removed the old fuel pump motor from arram and installed the 255lph by walbro. We reconnected the hose, retightened the clamp to the hose, reconnected the wire from the motor the housing and the wire inside the gas tank to the housing. Then we connected the fuel line inside the tank onto the plastic line connected on the house.

Reinserted the fuel housing and connected the fuel line from the engine onto the plastic line ontop of the housing. Reconnected the power. Faced the fuel pumps arrow marker towards the front of the car, tightened the ring with the tool. End.


Car wont start after trying to start it several times for more then 5+ seconds a time.
Getting nervous cause I dont want to burn out my started motor.

Any quick replies would be REALLY appreciated if anyone has a idea to what I mightve forgotten or shouldve probably done. Thanks.

when you turn on the ignition you should hear the fuel pump make a whirring noise for about 3 seconds then stop . Does that happen ?

Yea it did. But I found out my problem lol.

I guess the way I laid the gas hose back out caused it to crimp in two different spots impeding any flow whatsoever.

I just moved it around and switched up the position and ithe kinks undid themselves.

Do I? I've been running the car almost 3 weeks with no problems so far.

I won't lie I saw that post on BHR's sight, but I completely skipped it and forgot about it.
OD do you think this is going to be a issue if I dont mess with the venturi?

You might blow the cap off...and then the venturi will quit working

You will notice it when your car runs out of gas and it still says you have 1/4 tank LOL

Lmao alright, well atleast i'll know what to expect.

How do I go about messing with the venturi? Would a lighter work fine? Or would I need something a little more industrial like a TIG welder? LOL.

I just installed my BHR walbor pump last sunday. Yes, you definitely need to take that assembly back out and secure the cap!

A suggestion from experience - take a screwdriver or a nail and hold down the cap while you are heating the edges or that little top AND the tiny spring will POP right off during the heating process. I used a little flame to just heat up the top edges - a little section at a time. Once it had a couple of little bubbles on the plastic I knew it was warm enough - I then took a nail and used the top to simply press the side inward and kind of over the cap piece. They actually melded together and became one unit.

I made the mistake first of just warming the sides and squeezing it in... thought it was sealed and all of a sudden the cap popped off - so go slow - take your time - keep the cap pressed down while heating and fusing it all together.

Then your good to go! The upgraded BHR pump fit perfectly!

I used a large soldering iron, worked great but whatever you do, wear glasses and don't breath, that **** stinks and will burn your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!

Just be sure to rotate the pressure regulator ("siphon") assembly while applying heat to it.

Reviving this thread for a quick quesetion - is this venturi assembly on the driver side with the fuel pump?

I ask because the previous owner of my car installed a walboro and i seem to be running out of gas at 1/4 tank so I assume he neglected to do this step. Im going to get in and fuse it together this weekend.

Also, since the top has surely blown off, is it in my tank somewhere?

And oh yes its part of the fuel pump assembly.

Once u take it out the missing piece should be pretty obvious

Well I took the pump out last weekend and the siphon assembly is missing. not just the top, the whole thing. Meh.

The PO put a bigger fuel pump in and I have a return type system, but its returning to the passenger side and I do no think there is any method of pulling fuel from the passenger side to the driver side.

Im looking for a replacement assembly and I intend to change the return line so it routes through the siphon assembly. Hopefully this will fix the issue and fuel will transfer sides properly.

I've seen things about the pressure from the walbro being too high, should I be fine just installing it by myself
