Hot start problem still persists ?
Hi everyone my rx8 is struggling with hot starts, I had it diagnosed and it needed plugs coils and leads which I replaced (these did help alot) but the problem still persists...
Had a compression test and numerous other tests and there all fine. Any ideas what else could be the problem? It's a 2004 192bhp Any help would be great :) |

I'm not sure how can I find out? I'm guessing with it being 2004 it's got the old weaker starter?
Why would I only be having problems with hot starts though and not cold ones? Il check the link out, thanks |
Also if I rev to 3000 for 10 seconds and turn off this completely gets rid of the problem and a hot start is fine? But don't wanna be doing this everytime lol

Check your fuel pump and catalytic converter as well as your maf.
Compression specs? |
possibly soak in ... sea foam for you!
|
I dnt have compression spec although I know it was good lol
Is seafoam only needed for low compression though? How can I check fuel pump and maf? |
There's a service manual on foxed.ca, use it as a reference for the fuel pump.
Let a specialist do a compression test and come back with the proper results. "good" isn't enough to rule low compression out. The maf can be cleaned. Google rx8 maf cleaning. |
seafoam combats carbon build up.
|
It was done by a professional and compression was good? I don't have a printout? And ok cheers il look it up :) how can I know if its my starter?
