High rpm stutter flashing cel no cat
 

I know this thread has been beat to death but im out of solutions.


So my rx8 has been doing this for a while every time i try to accelerate wot after 5000 rpms the engine stutters makes the car bounce and then continues to accel. it does this from 5000-9000 worst at about 7000-7500. I have no cat to be clogged. read my cel it says misfire so i changed the plugs. the coils have less then 10000 miles on them. ssv and AIR voltages are read high. i checked the ssv lever and it moves freely i havent checked the actuators or the AIR. it seems unlikely for both to go out at the same time. i sea foam the car once a month or so to clean out carbon. the coils and plug wire are a little over a year old changed them last summer. plugs are brand new.


dont know what to do.... it seems unlikely that my o2 sensor is causing this. but im getting high voltage codes on the SSV and AIR relay.

ignition coils.
I know you said they only have 10,000 miles but I was recently at a Rotary shop here in SoCal diagnosing a car with the owner and he had two bad coils that were only about 4 months old. (OE replacements from O'Reilleys)

do you have a timing light? (or access to one)
