High pitch sound.

Alright so i took my 2005 Rx8 out for a spin the other day before storaging it. And noticed a high pitch sound when i accelerate and this happens in every gear. The faster i drive the louder the noise gets to a point when its just too annoying to drive. The noise seems to originate from the behind the drive or passanger seat. This is a first for me and this is my 3rd rx8. Im a bit lost as to what it could be, at firstni tought it my be the gaz pump under the back seat that is deing and screaming for help when i accelerate.

But now i have been reading on interner a bunch of different opinions and hoping to get insight from the RX-8 gurus here.

Help me out im about to take my car out from storage and want to fix my problem

Exhaust leak? It doesn't sound like anything obvious, but that would be a start. Does it change with throttle amount only, or with rpm only, or with speed only, or some combination of these? Please be specific.

Good question the car is in storage right now. However i know when accelerate at a corner the high pitch sound gets louder the more i rev the car.

As for reving the car on neutral im not 100% sure if the noise is there been a few months.

Can you give me a idea on what it could be in both situations. Ill get more info in about 2weeks when the car comes out of storage. Or when i get time off of work to go replug the battery and start the car.

The noise is only there with throttle response.

If it's only there under throttle I would strongly suspect an exhaust leak. Perhaps the gaskets where the catback mates with the cat, or where the cat mates with the header. Easy to detect if you have the car in the air, just start it up and feel around for escaping air around each joint.
