High Clutch fix?
 

I let my friend drive the car a about 3 days ago (BIG REGRET)

It was fine the night of but the next day i hope into my car to realize my clutch had changed heights. Its almost all the way up compared to the middle where it used to be... I filled the brake/clutch fluid up (it wasnt very low to begin with). Buddy of mine said i should bleed the clutch lines in case I have air in the lines.

Any other ideas? I saw a thread in the forums mentioning that there was a bolt I can mess with to change the sweet spot but it doesnt really describe the location well.

::EDIT:: I have only 40k on the car even though its an 04. Regularly serviced. I highly doubt i burned the clutch 0_0

Describe "clutch changed height"...
Do you mean the pedal itself is higher or the engagement point?
Also... verify that the clutch pedal assembly didn't "snap", which is a known issue and can cause you more problems with the clutch and tranny.

In the two days you waited you could have been researching this yourself.
I know Charles R Hill and I both talked about the pedal adjustments quite a bit in several threads and even mentioned how to adjust them.

If the clutch engagement is off, follow this:

Ive seen your posts on adjusting clutch height. My own problems are with the clutch engagement. Im not that auto literate so its hard for me to describe!

But it think you've pretty much solved my problem with the first set of directions.

One last thing tho. I checked under the assembly and everything seems to be in tact. The clutch isnt lobsided or anything! So how would i know that the assembly is cracked? If there is a sure fire way of checking please let me know.

Honestly... the best way for you to check is completely remove the clutch pedal.
I had a local check his pedal assembly to see if it snapped, even sent him pics of what it looked like, and he said it wasn't.
When I arrived, I was able to see that it was fractured without even removing it.
But here is what the fracture looks like... it'll be along the upper-left nut that secures the pedal to the firewall:

I strongly suggest you consider this as a possibility.
Usually the engagement point won't change unless you upgrade the clutch or actually mess with the push-rod.
If there was air in the clutch line, you'll notice the disengagement point closer to the floor... not higher up.

wow jon! I will definitely look into it. My friend actually had to completely change his assembly on his bmw recently.
