Help what have i done car will no longer idle.

I decided to take a look at my starter motor this evening as i'm having warm start trouble. I disconnected the battery got underneath located the starter motor and give the connections on the starter a spray with some wd40. I rig the battery back up reset the DSC as its flashing. And now the car starts but unless i keep my foot on the accelerator the revs drop and the engine stalls, it doesn't even idle roughly. What the hell have i done?

clean your MAF - $8

change your coils, plugs & wires $350

Perform a Seafoam $10

Check your o2 catalytic sensor ( if it's bad get a new one ) $60

( verify if your starter is the updated version ) if not you can get one @ Mazmart for $375 better than the dealer for almost $1000

Good Luck any of these can be the problem

My starter is the old type and i'mn gonna change it. But why does the car stall as soon as i take my foot off the accelerator, it never did that untill i sprayed the starter with wd40!?

Why are you putting your foot on the accelerator when you are starting it?
Your fuel trims are jacked for some reason and since you are back to zero after the battery disconnect, it is trying to relearn, but you are hindering it by using the gas pedal.

Let the motor get completely cold and then restart it without using the gas pedal in any way and let it warm up.

thanks for the advice will leave it till the morning and then give it another go. I'm not using the accelerator when i start, never do. It's after it starts if i don't rev it a little it just stalls. I suppose once the engine is cold the car will automatically pump more fuel through and hopefully keep it started.

It should be fine in a few drive cycles
