HELP!! Weak Acceleration Under 4000 Rpm

hey there,
first of all im a mazda technician (have been for a loooong time) and after checking this particular RX-8 i could not find the cause of the problem.
heres the problem
i give it gas upon taking off, nothing heavy, the same amount of throttle i would give it when starting from a stop sign, and its dragging along, truly terrible, but after 4000 rpms, its fine.
i checked compression, sparkplugs, wires, the catalytic (incase it was clogged up), fuel pump, pretty much everything,
and nothing seems to make it better.

please tell me if you have had a similar problem or know someone who has, what the cause of the problem was. Or if you have any idea what could be causing this.
thank you

The car idles fine so its not a vaccum leak?

Is it possible the parking brake is rubbing but the brake light is burn't out?

How about stuck calipers? Drive it a half block and check the discs.

It will be hotter than a pistol.

ill check but the thing is, after 4000rpm its normal, acceleration is fine.
the problem only occurs before 4000-ish.

Did you try the leading coils? They weren't on your list.
