Check your wires see if anything melt. also check your fuse see if anything popped.
|
make sure you don't have any small burn marks on the middle of the coils. Even the part (cant think of the name of it) that the coil connects to

His coils are fine. He put the 2 rear coils up to the front with the known good connector and they worked fine (I did read that right?, I hope). The problem seems to be with the the pcm not suppling the connector with the ?12v? it needs to fire the coil

Exactly. why does not the PCM give any DTC ? Could it be that the PCM is broken ? |
Since there is no code I would check the wiring from the PCM to the coil harness. Seems like you PCM is bad. Are you getting voltage to the connector?

So just check the wire first. |
sorry nycgps, I thought you meant spark plug wires.....It all makes sense to me now :)

Seems to me that I remember a thread running around here a while back on intermittent issues with coil packs due to poor grounding as well. Could be something tied to the mounting points for the rears that is causing the issue no matter which coil packs are used there. I've also read here that the new coil packs that came out in the USA a while back were designed to improve grounding. Other guys have posted some DIY info about taking the coil grounding right to the battery itself.

this is for US spec, yours likely is similar in concept
https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...chmentid=89542 you either have a wiring/connector/ground issue or there's a remote chance that your PCM partially fried . |
