headlight problem
 

hey everybody, ill be at work until late tonight, and i dont have my car with me, but this morning i turned on my car and let it warm up, then i flipped my headlights on, and it didnt work. neither do my high beams or fog lights. everything else turned on fine.
ive been looking around and everyone has troubleshooting for low beams dont work but high beams do. i didnt get a chance to check the fuse or hear the relay click so i cant rule those out. but since i have all day to think about it, i wanna know all the ways to troubleshoot my headlights. any ideas?

Fuse/relay.

Only other option was someone took a baseball bat to your lights and you overlooked that part.

I would say its the relay since there are three separate fuses for the head lights and unlikely they all blew together.
Swap it with the starter relay and see if the lights turn on (remember, you don't need the key in/car started to turn on the lights).

im mechanically and electrically incompetent. can you please explain how to swap the starter and headlamp relay?

Get a pair of pliers, pop the hood, pop the cover to the fuse box, will be on the right, close to the front of the engine bay, hard to miss. Then using the guide drawn on the back of the fuse box cover, locate which relays are which, using the pliers (or your fingers if you have good enough grip not everything has enough clearance to fit your fingers around), just pull up to remove, push down to replace.

Did you replace the relay or just "tap" it?
Sometimes the contacts just get stuck.

the headlight relay popped out and the housing cracked in half, but i switched it with the ignition relay, and both still worked...
ordered new relay just in case. =]

I removed headlight relay and switched with ST relay.It works. I found bad relay. Saved me time and money.
