Headlight issues-photo request

I have been having problems getting my headlights back to 'normal' after having one replaced. The body shop I went to is apparently as clueless as I am in this area. I have a mental picture of what the headlights' projection should look like, but it would help me immensely if I could have a picture of properly functioning headlights to use as a reference.
Just to give you an idea of what I mean, here are my headlights (from th hood looking outward). The last two I stood in front of each headlight to show the individual sides. Thanks in advance. |
Without knowing how far away your car is from the wall we can't duplicate that pattern. But I might be as clueless about this as you, I do not see what's wrong. It is normal for the drivers side been to be a little lower that the passenger side.

It is possible I am just crazy, but I dont seem to remember the circular shadows before. I do however remember the elbow used to line up perfectly with the center divider on a two lane road. Now it is closer to the right side of my lane. I guess it just needs to be adjusted left a little. Also, in the pictures the right light (the original one) is a straight line, while the right one (last picture, replaced headlight) both sides of the elbow angle up. Everything might be fine (see first sentence), I am just looking for a second opinion.
(for the pics: I think I was about 15 feet from the door) |
Thats norm. You headlights are just pointing down. I have mine facing more up. So you dont see that ring. But I dont have the self adj headlights.
