Still not resolved? Please let me know, I'm having the same issue.

I hit the faceplate (CD was skipping, tapped it - skipping stopped. Then it came back, and i hit it a bit harder) now the car won't lock, key fob not working, temp display went out, radio completely not working BUT the A/C controls are working fine. Ridiculous.. I disconnected the battery twice. No luck.

I finally resolved my radio issue after a year and a half.

It was my Ipod cable that was shorting my previous 3 radios. I tried a 4th radio today that never touched the Ipod cable (and never will). It seems really strange that a cable connected to the AUX input could completely fry a Bose head unit, but it's the only logical explanation.

Be careful with 3rd party stuff.

Can this even be possible?

Does anyone have another resolution?

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread...

And my apologies for this second resurrection of an old post. But i was suffering from this issue as well. My Radio, Logicon, HVAC controls where NOT working all of a sudden.

After reading a little bit and getting a very useful Youtube video on how to pull the radio out and check it i found what was wrong in my case. Pleas forgive me i do not have pics of this so i'll be detailed:

1. Pulled the radio out just like these 2 videos explain, now these are not related to these problems, these ONLY take you through the CORRECT way to remove the radio, which in my case, someone tried to remove it incorrectly, thus ripping the face off its mounting screws and making the 2 contact strips on the sides of it that connect the face to the radio body it self not making proper contact and as such everything shuts off:

2. Once i had the radio out and figured this out, i initially massaged the face back on, reconnected it and it was working.

3. So, took the whole radio out, took off the face, epoxied the brass screw threads back into the face and put them all back in.

4. Mounted the radio back in after the epoxy dried and voila! All is well everything works perfect again.

5. Also, when i pulled out my radio i noticed that the 10mm bolt that holds it in place in the back was also not in so who ever took that out did a piss poor job and as such it was just a matter of time before it was going to stop working.

Hope that helps anyone on here.

Quick fix

Thanks for all the information here. I’m happy to report the faceplate was off by just a couple of millimeters. When I snapped it back the console lights and radio came back on. The display on the dash is still not working correctly, but the radio works.
Thanks again,

Headunit

Sorry that i dig up an old post but i'm near a mental breakdown because of my radio. I installed 3 temp gauges, took voltage from the lighter and grounded it on the metal screw below the top removable centerdash thingy. I reinserted my radio with headunit (bend the Metal bracket back for better connection) and it won't turn on. When i remove the "Main" connector on the radio and plug it back in it works expect the illumination(which i don't need if the headunit would work) if i disconnect the battery or leave the car off for a long period the radio won't turn on anymore until i reconnect the "main"connector. I also noticed is that if i have my radio on and i remove the key, the radio will stay on which i think wasn't like that before. The Fuses should be ok since it works if i reconnect the connector on the radio. Is there a wiring issue with my grounding? Or is it a relay that maybe is fried?

I really appreciate your help!

Hi to everyone.
I have a similar problem with my stereo. I have a 2004 RX8 (bose system). All the dials for radio, cd, volume etc work fine I see the tracks on the display and radio stations and I can change them but I don't hear sound from the speakers but only a low clicking sound coming from the unit like a relay is trying to arm. Sometimes the stereo works fine and I can listen to music cd or radio. But most of the times when a open the ignition switch I start hear that clicking sound from the stereo unit and no music. When I start the car the same continues. Do you have any suggestions; Is someone having the same problem; Is there a relay somewhere in the system;
I really appreciate your help and input.

Update on the previous post. The clicking sound is coming from the center speaker and from the twitters on the front doors not from inside the unit. Is there an amplifier the drives these speakers; Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks for ypur help
