hazy/foggy Gauge Cluster

Hey I have recently noticed a haze around the rim of the clear plactc that protects the gauge cluster, at first I thought it was some cleaner over spray, but the other day I tried to wipe it and it stayed.

after further examination it seems like its on the inside of the plastic glass

I tired searching here and then a general search and all I found was some kind of wax for plastic, but nothing about haziness or fogginess

anyone else with this issue, any fixes?

I think that is caused by Armor All or other type of spray someone used on the interior of the car.

This has happened in auto car wash facilities.

Nothing you can do..

Butt,, you can try McGuiars plasic polish.

I tried some regular wax and it help a little, is it on the inside or outside?

I will track down some plastic polish

Only you can answer that question.

My bet is its on the outside.

A fog or haze should occur on the inside only if you live near the beach and the car is very old.

Then the salt air gets to all the cars components.

years later (today) I took out the gauge cluster and removed the shrouds so I just had the guage assembly.

I used Maguiars PlastX cleaner and polisher.
This really cleaned up my armor-all or dash cleaner stains and some of the scratches, I found re-wetting it with the polisher helped get the stains out better. after words I waxed it with Maguiars Carnauba plus wax

the results are amazing!!!
