Hard to shift into 2nd at high RPM

I tried finding info on this already but have so far been unsuccessful.

I have a 07 RX8 MT with 32k miles on it (2nd owner).

When shifting from 1st to 2nd at high RPM (7500+) I have a hard time getting the shifter to fall into place unless I really take my time and let the RPM's drop a bit for the shifter to drop in (no speed shifting).

At lower RPM's I don't have this problem and I don't have this problem when shifting from 2nd to 3rd (or any other gear for that matter) at high RPM. Also the car is fully warmed up and have been driving for a couple of miles minimum before I start driving her hard.

I changed the trans and differential fluids with redline trans fluid as described in another area of the forums when I first bought the car (28k miles).

Is this normal? If so is there anyway to help relieve this problem so I can speed shift into 2nd (lighter flywheel or aftermarket clutch, short shifter etc?)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you grind for 1st to 2nd if u regular shift without waiting for rpm to drop? I've never gotten 1st to 2nd gear grind as long as I don't hurry the shift but I certainly didn't have to wait for rpm to drop.

Regular driving or fast, I find I have to shift very very very slightly slower from 1st to 2nd compared to other gear changes.

No, it doesn't grind it's just really really hard to push it into gear compared to my other gears which feel like silk.

Your experience appears to be similar to mine, I just thought that was kind of odd that it would only happen on those gears and not the rest.

It's probably just the gear ratio. I'm a very light shifter so it doesn't bother me that much.

bent shift fork. or bad syncro.

Awesome thanks much for the replays. I'm kinda assuming replacing a bent trans fork or syncros is very involved and expensive so I guess I'll wait until it gets worse to tear it apart.

Much appreciated :)
