Hi, did you figure out what happened? I'm having the same issue.

The gridning starts when you start to let out on the clutch when in reverse right? I have the same problem. It's that you aren't fully engaged in the gear, just re engage well umm better haha

Yea i had the same problem in reverse. Just make sure when you engage in reverse that you push it back COMPLETELY. Youll feel it kind of engage i guess once you push it back. When i first got the car, it grinded infront of a few friends and it was kinda embarassing loll.

happened to me a couple times trying to go to reverse, i just stick it back into Neutral & try again. I figured I was ending up in 6th even though I pushed down, so I'd just try setting it to Reverse again!

OK, in my case, it turned out to be the brake pads were worn. I'm getting it from the shop this afternoon.

Dude they got u good. A grinding sound in reverse has nothing to do with brake pads being worn. If it sounded like a loud squeel then yeah but brake pads have nothing to do with the trans. I've had the grinding in reverse a couple of times too but all it is is that reverse isn't fully engaged. Normally when I'm backing up I put it into the reverse gear a couple of times to make sure its all the way engaged.

Some ppl should stick to autos, driving stick is not rocket science, or is it in the US.

No, they didn't, I'm not that naive. Never had a problem with the transmission. The noise was more a squeak than grinding, like you said. The first time I noticed it was in reverse at low speed (reverse already engaged and already moving) (the day I posted). The next day it started to happen always, not only in reverse.

Pads were changed, everything is good now.

Cheers.
