got my u flash!

why hello all i got my U flash yesterday for my 04 MT rx8 (u is the newest one) turns out i was 9 flashes behind or so the service manager claims and i got to say i love the u flash the car should never have been released without it IMHO but just curious i do like to push the car sometimes but at 7:00 in the morning when i wanna get to work i usually just like to drive a little more timid in ur opnion what is the best rpm to be driving at with the U flash to A) prolong my engine life ex carbon buildup and B) gas milege i have always heard around 4K is this true for the U flash as well?

nycgps 03-26-2009 02:35 PM

I cant read it

Paragraph it maybe ?

9krpmrx8 03-26-2009 02:39 PM

Good news but when you have nycgps correcting your grammar you are in trouble. Trying using paragraphs and punctuation. That is the longest run on sentence I have ever read.

9krpmrx8 03-26-2009 02:40 PM

I wonder what the latest flash I have is.

FrankTome89 03-26-2009 02:42 PM

i hate both of u so much!!

same here. is there any way to figure this out by not going to a stealership?

syntheticdarkness 03-26-2009 02:53 PM

Well I can't help you. I called the dealer and all they have is the M so far. I drive mine sorta hard and get 22 mpg, but I also got a few mod's done. Just remember to redline it every other time and you won't have to worry.

FrankTome89 03-26-2009 02:54 PM

ahaha should say on the inside of your door jam. althought that might state the orginal one it came with p.s. its free, but back to my question anyone ?

dozer 03-26-2009 02:56 PM

when did this flash come out?

syntheticdarkness 03-26-2009 02:57 PM

To find out your lastest flash or anything just call the dealership and and give them your vin and they can tell you or mail you the history of the car.

FrankTome89 03-26-2009 02:59 PM

I believe its fairly new

pdxhak 03-26-2009 03:02 PM

We need zoom44 :)

dozer 03-26-2009 03:04 PM

last flash i had was the msp16 or something like that, the local dealership sent out a letter letting me know....

syntheticdarkness 03-26-2009 03:21 PM

I believe the msp16 is the M flash dozer. I think as for the U, I don't think the US has it yet unless it's considered to be one of the flashes that's out with a different letter, I'd have to call MNAO.

FrankTome89 03-26-2009 03:30 PM

to my knowledge m was a long time ago guys ur forgetting r and u keep in mind manual and auto's have diffrent flash letters you can find all of this info in the flash sticky U is the newest for 04 MT as for the Auto's its called T

pdxhak 03-26-2009 03:35 PM

U flash = MSP16 flash

We would normally call this the "U" flash since we generally speak of flashes in terms of the 2004 MT flash

syntheticdarkness 03-26-2009 03:37 PM

Well I just got off the phone with MNAO and gave them my vin and the last one they have is the msp16 and they said they don't know about the U and mine's an 05 M/T. So you say it's in the sticky, I'll have to look again. Sometimes when you call people there or at the dealership it kinda goes in one ear and out the other.

syntheticdarkness 03-26-2009 03:41 PM

To bad I type slow. Thanks for that pdxhak. If I would read closer then what I do I would of caught that, guess that's what I get for being blonde haha.

pdxhak 03-26-2009 03:43 PM

I was curious as well. All credit goes to zoom44 for providing the info :)

FrankTome89 03-26-2009 03:47 PM

there ya go! but still were so far off topic, anyones opnions? and when i got my flash done i was still chilling on L and getting 280 MAX km to a tank what are you all getting? i hear the U flash greatly increases milage

pdxhak 03-26-2009 03:48 PM

I did not notice an increase in MPG.

syntheticdarkness 03-26-2009 03:55 PM

Well I get around 22mpg mixed driving and highest is up at 25, but I follow freights on the interstate. I also have pulley kit, intake, exhaust so I don't know if that will affect the mpg greatly, but to me and my readings I seem to gain 2 mpg, but that's my opinion and research I've done with my car.

FrankTome89 03-26-2009 04:04 PM

i have heard of 380 being average with it i just wanted to bring up the topic again cus 280 is sick remember thats km not miles
