Frozen car

hey guys, I need your help ( even 9krpm lol ) I was on an ex with work and had my car sitting for 2 days while it poured rain and then froze over night ,I went to start the car , it started then boom shutdown, tried again it started boom shut down right away... I tried to use the gas pedal to keep the revs higher and it would not let me rev at all, tried starting again and it just kept cranking, I stopped then tried again, she started and again just died within seconds.. `would it be possible that the throttle would be frozen? i do not believe its flooded since it starts just cannot hold its idle. hit me up with your opinions.

If you think the throttle body might be stuck, did you at least try to verify it while you waited for responses?
And while you're in there, see if there is condensation somehow in the intake tract.
There are many things that could result in this symptom... but difficult to narrow down since you haven't touched the car.

Did you say "ex" or you meant was "with my ex"? If your married, just make sure your wife don't read that. You will be in trouble. :suspect:

I actually could not find the throttle, I am waiting until tomorrow once it warms up and everything melts, my maf was hard to take off to even have a look pretty much frozen, so possibly something with that... I asked the question incase someone had the problem already, so when I go back tomorrow I can just fix what I was suggested it was.

hahah and for moonchie, `the ex is what we had with the military... I was the enemy and had to talk through the walkie talkies and they were intercepting us.

You couldn't find the throttle body? If you are looking for a throttle cable (trust me many new 8 owners have looked), well you won't find one as our car is drive by wire.

Remove your intake tract and check things outs. Move the throttle butterfly with your hand, make sure it is not stuck. If there is moisture in it then you need to dry everything out. Then report back.

awesome thanks buddy... Car starts then it seems like the throttle will not open and it shuts off, we got around 30mm of rain and then turned to freezing rain right after.. so my car is completely covered in ice. Well I just learned something today, no cable.

tomorrow its expected to be sunny all day, maybe it will melt, but I will def try what you suggested.
