Exclamation clutch pedal snap off, dealer won't honor the warranty

let me just start by saying my car is a 2005 with 47000 miles...and to make a long story short my clutch pedal snap off yesterday and it was towed to MAPLE SHADE MAZDA IN NEW JERSEY. I just received a calll from them and they want me to pay for the assembly and labor, wazup with that? i had the same problem back in may 2009 and it was all cover by the warranty. did i miss something? does mazda doesn't cover the assembly snapp off anymore? I'm pissed off!!, if i would known i would have fix it my self, now i have to figure a way to bring back the car to my house.
Is there a number or somebody in mazda headquarter i can talk to???
thanks in advance!

Yeah it can possibly be because of your time expiration on your warranty. I just got the pedal replaced and I had only two months remaining as well on my warranty even with only 33k miles on the car.

Yeah man it broke back in may 2009 and once again last saturday, i figure since it was replace 6 months ago i would be ok for another couple of years. I'm beggining to think that dealer didn't replace it the first time they probably just fixed it

Are you sure the bracket snapped? Have you seen it yourself ?

It doesnt work that way. Once your Bumper to Bumper warranty expires, you have to pay for it. Powertrain warranty does NOT cover Clutch Bracket.

You might be able to work something out with Mazda corporate since your bracket shouldn't break in 3 months. call and ask.

if you had the same part failed that was replaced 6 months ago you might be able to get some assistance. before saying anything about requesting assistance check your records real good so you have good enough material to ask for help..most mazda parts have 12 months/12k warranty but there is a fine line between that once your factory warranty expires

I bet the dealer just took the pedal off an 8 they had around the lot. A new pedal shouldn't have broken that quickly. It might be cheaper to get a modified pedal from BHR and change it yourself. That is if you can go a few days without your car.

Yeah, they suck. I made the mistake of shopping there once and they held my Integra hostage while they tried to sell me an 8 that they insisted was a "5-speed"!!!

hey guys I went to pick up the car at the dealership this morning and they wanted $414 to fix the clutch pedal, i sad 'screw you" i called my mechanic and he is now towing the car to his garage. This sucks at least i learn my lesson and i should of listen to eveybody when they told me not to go to maple shade mazda, im paying less than what the dealer was asking for and that includes the tow truck, i should of have taken the pedal out when the car was in my garage i wasted $$ on a tow truck. anyway anybody looking for a good rotary mechanic in the south jersey or philly area? just let me know my mechanic is the best. i'll see you guys at the suchi meet

KEEP THE OLD BRACKET !!!!!! TAKE A PICTURE OF IT ! File the complaint at NHTSA

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/clutch-pedal-snap-off-8-year-warranty-recall-%7E%7E%7E-132912/

NHTSA just made it official today, this is the only chance you will be able to get the bracket money back + and force Mazda to face this issue.

im about to install a race roots clutch bracket, is there any issue installing it on an already 'weak' pedal that is kind of squeazing?

what if I decide to remove it afterwards if I end up selling my car, would the drilled pedal be still functionnal without the bracket?
