Flooded and Tow-Pull Starts

So, my clutch pedal snapped, when I started the car with no issues last week, had it towed to the garage, and they replaced the clutch pedal, and new slave and master cyclinder with a stainless steel clutch line.

I put new plugs in back in May,cleaned those out, cranked the engine to get rid of existing fuel. Pulled fuses, and cranked, no start, but can hear a bit of back pressure. Yesterday, after push starts with people didnt work, we towed to do pull starts.

2nd gear pulls to 20-25 km/h, slowly off the pedal, it would start then cut off. getting lots of pops from the exhaust, but not worried about the cat, cause i have a replacement.

so, i have the car in ON position, foot on clutch, gear in second, and have my buddy towing me, when I get to 12 - 15 mph, i ease of clutch, and car will start, then cut. Am I doing something wrong?

Its hard multitasking, as I don't want to collide into his car, thou I have the bumper off.

Is my setup correct? Should I have the fuses out? Does tow starting, dump fuel back in?

I assume I ease off the clutch in 2nd, if it starts, use gas to build rpm slowly and hold it?

Did 5 pulls yesterday, just getting pops from the exhaust and fuel smells.

Thanks

Pull it till it starts...and rev it till it stops running rough...it should run then. Expect a lot of smoke from the exhaust if it is really flooded
