Failed Easy out..now what??
so I recently snapped my master cylinder bleeder screw...and since then..i managed to hand drilled a hole in the screw and tried to use easy out. However, apparently, I torqued it in with so much force that, in the end, reverse torquing did not work..it just kept losing grip. I even tried heating up the unit to about 70 degree and then quickly froze the hole that i drilled out. All failed....
what other ways are there?? If i am going to replace my master cylinder...how much will it cost at dealer? how hard is it? |
Wow, that sucks. I'd try way more than that before buying a new one. Try to find reversed pitch drill bits. or drill same dia. hole and retap for oversize bolt...and so on. you should be able to grab it that way.

hjahah hopeless now. i just removed the master cylinder..and so i get the space i needed to work on the screw with the extractor..and the extractor broke.. LOL so new one it is... guys. is there any trick in putting it back on?? like anything i need to know |
can someone give me a part number for 04 rx8 brake master cylinder. I just want the Aluminum unit not the resovior.
I found something like: F1534343ZA---is there a difference between the DSC ones and the non DSC ones. PLEASE LET ME KNOW btw. When I was taking off the master cylinder, there is a hose right beside a electric connector. what does the hose do??? |

F1534343ZA = cars with DSC You are probably referring to the hose that runs to the clutch's master cylinder just to the right of the brake booster. basically, I would like to know the right way of reconstructing it. my idea is -put everything back and bleed brake but what is the right way? is there anything i need to watch for? Ok i am not sure what's going on now. I didn't even know that the cluth has a hose that goes to the master cylinder. So I would like to know A) why does the clutch have a hose going to the master cylinder?? B) how do i need to deal with the clutch hose part when putting it back. |
Hydraulic clutch...it shares fluid with the brakes.
You may have to "bench bleed" the master cylinder before putting it in...not sure about RX-8, but it's typical. Do you have the shop manual? If not, you can download it from http://www.hi-impact.org/ryang/modif...8_manuals.html Good luck. Ken |

But messing with the master cylinder the way he is, it probably would be a good idea to bleed the clutch too.

It can be a PITA to reach because its behind the oil filter on top of the transmission. |
so to fully bleed my system and safe.
I should start of with MS, SS, Passenger R, Driver R, PF, RF, MS again. Does that sound good?? |
I've always done the slave cylinder last (mainly because I hate that the most).
As long as the SS is performed sometime after the MC, it shouldn't matter when you do it. |
