Engine not starting, after tranny fluid change

I have always used these forums to search and fix my problems but today I changed the Manual transmission fluid and differential fluid after I was done went to start car and nothing ,no click, no crank, battery is good, maybe something to do with the clutch. please help

wow, I never heard of this. Did you maybe disconnect the starter? That would explain the dead silence. Do the headlights work? If so then the battery isn't dead.

it has nothing to do with what you did--changing fluids.
check the clutch switch on the clutch pedal--since the battery is good. you didnt unplugg anything from the trans did ya?

I tested the clutch switch with ohm meter and it is good the clutch feels normal i did not disconnect anything from starter or tranny. I did some brake work on front brakes i compressed caliper piston back in to caliper for ease of re installing calipers. when I went to restart car after replacing tranny fluid and brake work clutch kind of bottomed out but it returned back to normal once i pumped brakes to get the front brakes tight but still car did not start. Well I also had the PCM changed last thursday maybe something with that. but I ran the car saturday morning just fine yesterday afternoon car is dead , battery is strong I checked it with voltmeter reading 12V. I love this car but I hate all of these problems. So I had the car towed to the dealer I will have to wait and see what it is tomoro I am hoping it is something small probably electrical. Also something strange happened on friday the day after my PCM was changed I turned on the car and head unit and ambient temperature reading were dead, shut it off then when I came out of store turned it on the head unit and temp were back. Again who knows? Just sucks it was not easy to change the tranny fluid and differential fluid was really excited to test drive it to see any differences but of course my rx8 didnt see it that way. ohh well I will keep you guys updated thanks for ur help.

any news or updates?
Same problem no crank, no start, dead silent. Keep trying to turn the key until the starter turns, the engine starts up instantly. Hope nothing serious and easy fix.

ah more to the story---yep this is probably a dealership issue--curious why you changed ecus?

PCM Was changed because car was throwing a P0610 code (PCM Programing error) every morning when I started car:Eyecrazy: . Lucky for me under United States FEDERAL LAW the PCM, CATYLITIC CONVERTER, and OBD computer connector are covered under a 8 yr/ 80K mile warranty information provided to me by Mazda USA not the dealer so Mazda dealer had to change the PCM which is pretty expensive, for free. So all of a sudden starter goes out on it but unfortunatley for the dealer I have an extended warranty that covers the starter which saved me from the dealer trying to get almost 700 dollars to change a starter. dealers dont like it when you know more about your own car then they know about there own product ohh well i say just fix my sh*t LOL well I hope to get my car back today we will see.

may be a harness problem somewhere?
Interesting--never heard of a programing error happening.

Well, finally got my car back today with a new starter and starter relay, it started so nice it was awesome. There is such a difference in feel after changing the tranny fluid with royal purple it shifts a lot better and the car is quieter. So after it is all said and done in the last month i changed the trailing plugs, ignition wires, ignition coils, tranny and differential fluid got a new PCM and starter. Car is running nice now...... thanks for all of your help.

i went to RP in my 1988 10th Anniversary RX-7 and i really noticed a difference in the smoothness of the shifts. at the same time i replace the clutch hose with a stainless steel one form racing beat. clutch pedal feels so much more direct
