Engine Mounts
I am getting my 30,000 mile service done on my car tomorrow, hoping that it will dissolve my idleing issue. However, if that does not help my idle, then I am going to have to resort to my next option: my Engine Mounts.
I know there was a TSB on the Engine Mounts. I was wondering, would the TSB fall under the new Engine Warranty Mazda put out, or would it fall under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty? |
It was a 4 year / 50,000 mile warranty I think.
And no, the motor mount TSB isn't covered under the extended engine core warranty. |

Everybody forgets about the 2006 Warranty Extension due to the later 100k mile engine warranty that got all the press. Search "mazda powertrain warranty extension ssp 67" http://www.coremazda.com/tsb/rx8/pow...-extension.pdf Basically the engine mounts are listed as covered under this 60 month/60k mile warranty. |
(to mods) Can we add a sticky thread with the warranty extension ssp 67 info here somewhere? It can be hard to find if you don't know what you look for.

Hi I just joined the forum and had my 75,000 service today with a engine mounts advisory!
£130 per mount seems totally unrealistic! Any help with this cos although I keep reading about extended warranty's for the engine's. or is there a cheaper alternative rather using my mazda garage? |

There are some oem parts retailers here that you may want to contact, they often have used parts as well in like-new conditions :) If your car is out of warranty you really have no reasons to keep going to your mazda dealer as well, they tend to be a bit pricey for services etc. |

The cost seems realistic if it is in pounds, it is what we pay here.
