I would have the Alternator output tested.

Alternator.

X4.....................the alternator was bad, you changed the battery and now have run that down. Hopefully you didn't kill it and now need both.

Who put in the battery..........you?

One should always check the alternator when having to replace a battery.

No doubt...the alternator is the culprit.

check and see if you have any drain on the system. any aftermarket audio? have u ever mess with the wiring on the car?

check the dark current.

i have an aftermarket sound system but the mazdadealership put the battery in

nycgps 06-10-2012 06:11 PM

then u should check ur aftermarket sound system first for any drain.

get a multimeter and measure it.

Optima is getting better these 1-2 years, it went from super good like 10-15 yrs ago to super crap (after it was bought by JC), cuz the "super crap" word are spreading, JC wants to protect the brand they spent so much on, they start getting the quality back up and now it's back to "it's alright" state. So your Yellowtop should not fail in 2 weeks.

Just check the drain first.
