engine killed itself?!?!?!
well i was drivin back 2 school after lunch and my car kept seemin 2 bog out then excellerate hard after pushin in the gas. the CEL and battery light came on then rite as i got into the parking lot at the front of the school it died. wouldnt start back up, 5 min later i was able 2 start it back up but it died after bout a min then i waited about 10 more min and revved it a for a little bit and then it started 2 run fine and i didnt hav anymore problems.
y did this happen? was there a fuel line clog? should i b concerned of this happening again? btw its a 2004 4AT w/ 42k miles |
2004 4AT w/ 42k miles That is your problem. Call the dealer. |
What is the history of the car, service done, parts replaced, type of driving it gets, any thing you can think of that might help us. Get your CEL code read at a auto parts store or shop.

You should just take it to the dealer. There is a 100k mile 8 year warranty on the drivetrain.
Honestly it could be numerous things but the dealership will not listen to your input and you probably don't want to pay to have it fixed so just take it to the dealership and let them do it. It could be coils, catalytic converter, or your engine could be toast from carbon build up. |
well its my dad's weekend driver, but my dd since my car is in the shop
bought it used, ill have 2 check on maintence records, and its all stock rite now its running like normal, no CEL either |
Take it to the dealer and complain. They will give the engine the latest flash and do a carbon flush on it.
Do it now while you have a warranty. |

If the battery light came on you are having an electrical issue, as is your alternator is not putting out enough amps.
|
since its DAD's................ weekender.
Charge the battery! Ask if it has had a tune up. Its time! |
^^^^
yea thats what i figured, well i get my impreza back 2marow so we'll prolly take it in 2 the dealership |
I had the exact same problem. I took it to the dealer, they gave me new spark plugs and performed the decarb. They charged me $500 bucks for it. I went back with a print out of Mazda service bulletin which said I was covered under 8years/100K warranty and they reimbursed me for the money I had spent. All problems solved. The car runs just fine now.
They also did the CPU update and asked me to switch to newer/faster starter. I did not change the starter as it has never given me any problem and the new one was over 600 bucks. |
