Engine idle issue/hesitation

I know this has been asked and I have searched so I have an idea on what the problem might be but on other posts it seems to be one problem or the other, so I would like another opinion. Car starts fine, very quick on cold and warm start, but when warm at about 5k rpm it hesitates until 6-6.5k rpm, I can force it through and it feels fine after that threshold. After a while driving when the engine is warm and I come to a complete stop, my rpms dip and the car forces itself to 1.5k rpms in order to not stall. It hasn't stalled in a while doing this, but it has stalled before. A few months ago I did have a misfire, but when I took it to a dealer they said it seemed fine for the moment. I have recently (around 2 thousand miles ago) changed my coils, plugs, and wires, and I will clean my MAF tomorrow. Car has 73k miles. The only things I can think of right now are either the fuel pump or low compression, thoughts?

You kind of hit the nail on the head with fuel pump or compression.
I would even TEST your plugs and coils and visually CHECK your cat converter, just to rule those out.
Cleaning your maf, ess and air filter are easy, too.

I have an appointment with a dealer tomorrow, so I'm hoping that it's either the cat or low compression since my warranty expires on new years, hopefully get some free stuff. If I have a chance, I do have a compression tester from twisted rotors that I can use as long as my day permits it.

Just got a call from the dealer, they said the filter on my mazdaspeed intake was really soaked from all the rain we've been having and that the engine was basically suffocating from lack of air.
