ECU Reset

I unplugged my battery and then reconnected it in order to get rid of my CEL w/ my turbo. The CEL is gone, and I took it for a brief ride and it never flashed or came back on when I boosted or just rode around. So, does any1 know if it can be passed now when I take it to get inspected? I need to soon cus it was due in Feb...

You should get a code puller. Bet it was a P0302.

I think in MD you have to have 5 drive cycles to go through emmissions inspection. There might be a mileage cutoff as well.

I do know that you cant just clear the code while you are in line to the inspection garage. By bro-in-law tried it.

Bummer...I heard from a friend today that you gotta drive like at least 100 miles here in NC. It just sucks cus I need to get this done asap cus it was due so long ago when I didn't have the car. Anyway, I at least know the car runs well w/ the great afrs and what not. Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't come back on.

If it is intermitant and comes on when you punch it, it is very very likely a misfire code. Drive easy for 100 miles and you will be golden.

P.S. you can also get pending codes for misfires. The light wont be on but it would blink slowly a couple times. IF you punch it while it is blinking, it will likely go solid.

I would be interested to know if emissions people care about the occasional misfire. Or do they just tell you to go home if the light is on, period?

Dunno. I doubt it's missfiring though. The AFR is great under boost, and I've heard that the occasional flashing could just mean that it's not smog friendly, cus under boost my afr is lik between 10.5 and 12 always. I was afraid at first about the missfire thugh, but since it was not lurching or anything, and accelerated smoothly every time, I really feel it was just letting me know that it was to rich for the stock computer's liking.

You dont feel the misfire. It just shows up. There are some other threads on here to confirm, if you feel like searching. Honestly, I have no idea why or how this code pops up.

This is not an issue (generally) with your AFRs.
