Driving 10 miles with a misfire - very bad idea?

Need to get car to dealer because today it started running v rough and then stalled.

Checked codes and have a P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected.

I have had worse misfires so wonder if possibly OK to drive to dealer or do I really need another truck sob.

She started today when colder (about an hour after the stall) but I will have to rev her at the lights. Think I can manage if not will be in AAA distance (5 miles on basic).

I am just worried about damaging engine and/or cat.

What does the team think and before I get flamed I am a writer not a mechanic so I am just asking for helpful comments from wise and helpful people.

TIA
Steve

PS I apologize for sort of cross posting but need this advice pretty urgently and thought the question in the other thread would not get read.

If I were you, I would buy the Ebay coil, wire, and plug kit like I DID, and try to remedy the issue without driving the car for $80ish instead of driving to the dealer, potencially causing more issues and paying $100+ for a diagnostic before the fix...

The parts are decent quality. I was impressed with the way my car ran after I replaced my coils, plugs, and wires.

And with using my torque app on my S4, I did have the same code that hasnt come back after these parts were replaced.

^ :uhh:

$80 ebay price for coils, plugs, and wires = counterfeit. Period. $80 is the fair and reasonable market price for the correct plugs by themselves with pennies for a markup.

Maui, 10 miles to the dealer, keeping the RPM and load low is fine. Just don't rev it out or try going full throttle. No need to add all the extra fuel and heat into the exhaust system.

... and I paid $500 for a nice BHR set :-)

RIWWP think I will rejoin AAA and pay the extra $36 to be on the safe side :-(

To stop it stalling out I have to rev it quite high so... Poor old cat has had so many dowsing and I probably will stall in the middle of junction. Better to have them pick it up here.

Get a mid pipe as well. BHR makes a good piece of kit. You can go catless or they have a catted option as well. Well worth the money.
