Hello guys, hope you all are doing good.

I just bought 04 rx8, no engine is in the car as of now and it didnt have a battery installed.

So the first issue I encountered with it, is that the driver's door won't lock with the key. If I lock it manually, close the door then try to unlock it, it doesn't unlock either. I do not know if this normal when the car doesn't have any power source or if the lock is broken.

Any ideas? thanks in advance

i'm pretty sure the door lock cylinder (the thing you put the key in) is mechanical, so that would be the first thing i'd check.
