Does 8 stall in winter?
 

I had a problem with stalling when I reached stop signal.

Does this happen only in summer?

Or does this happen randomly whenever I drive my 8?

If someone drove 8 in winter, please give me answer.

71,100 miles, three New Jersey winters ZERO stalls.

Mine has never stalled unless by something I did (not giving enough gas starting from a stop or getting out of my slightly sloped up driveway.

is your car a2004? is it an AT? where are you located?

Not quite randomly. I found when it stalled.

1. It usually happens around 1:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM (When temperature gets hot)
2. After going up incline road (RPM goes up, but no power)
3. After 2, when I reach stop signal, RPM goes under 750, and it dies.
4. During daytime, when I drive under 10 miles(like in the parking lot), and it lost its power then stop. (When it stalled temperature was 86 outside)

Tonight Number 2 and 3 happens when it was dark either.
After going up steep incline, and I tried to park my 8, but it automatically stopped.

About 4 min later, it started normally, and I drove it slowly (2~6 miles) but it
never stalled again (Temp was 66 outside) And, I fully turned on A/C, and drove
slowly and, but it never stalled. And, RPM always kept over 750.

I don't know why it stalled during daytime, and after going up incline.

2004 AT. I'm in NY.

My car has always worked perfect in winter. Even on the -30 days it would start after being outside all day.

Bought my car in the dead of winter (this year) and never had a stalling problem.

So, this is just heat realted problem?

And, I found some article about stopping 8.

1. With engine running and transmission in neutral, increase engine revs to 4,000 rpm.
2. Hold revs at 4,000 rpm for 10 sec.
3. Turn off the ignition while the engine is running at 4,000 rpm.
4. With the pedal held in this position, allow the engine to stop turning.

Is it right?

I've done this tonight, when I came back home.
But, I don't know I'm doing right thing or not. (I don't want to spend my oil at the parking lot)

With the exception of step 4 instruction to hold the pedal down, this set of instructions is fairly reminiscent of instructions to prevent engine flooding on a cold start when adequate time has not been spent to allow the engine to warm to standard operating temperatures. There is a sticky thread on engine flooding maintained on this site you should check out to get more info. Unless you live in a polar ice cap zone where the ambient temperature does not rise much above freezing during the summer it seems unlikely that this is your issue.

Instead, I suggest you search on this site for other threads regarding stalling. There are a number of them in circulation with several different causes associated with same that can mimic your scenario.

dimplezero- the Mazda Techs had training on a new Vacuum Testing tool this week. set an appointment for your dealer for next week sometime and tell them you have had alot of stalling and want your engine's vacuum tested.
