Diagnosed with decreased performance due mods??

Hey guys,

Yesterday I just had my 80km service and everything was perfectly fine apart from when they said they did the quick road-test, the car was running low on performance (approx 70% according to them). This was due to the check engine light being on after I had just recently installed an agency-power midpipe and turboxs catback. I have never heard of this before as I thought the power should have a significant increase rather than decrease, already knowing it was going to throw a CEL anyway...not that I care, that sound of starting it up every morning is heaven to the ears =) Anyway any help will be appreciated...

Are you sayng the car is running at 30% of what it is capable? There is no way a midpipe and exhaust is going to decrease performance by 70%.

some mods can decrease. Those ones you mentioned aren't known to...

Check for other problems for sure (if indeed you are experiencing a decrease in power)

only mazda techs have calibrated butt dynos

to the OP, unless you routinely dyno your car before and after every mod, it's very unlikely you will feel any increases or decreases to performance. This is excluding adding Nitrous, Turbo, or Supercharging the car.

These guys jumped in the car, saw the cel, and told you something just do they could put in their report that they told you something

Yeah honestly when my last engine tested for low compression it was still driving fine power wise but it wouldn't idle.
