Dealership Maintenance

I went to start my car yesterday morning and when I started driving my engine light started blinking. Took it straight to dealership and they said that they had to change my plugs, coils, and wires due to multiple misfires. The price for the job was $720. I just wanted to know if this sounded right or if they were ripping me off. thanks for info

it's a dealership... so yes, they're overcharging you.
you can buy the parts yourself for half that.

gabriel.sabin 10-26-2008 01:24 PM

Can anyone tell me what parts to buy and how to do it?

Contact Charles R. Hill. You can see some of the stuff he does here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/bhrs-ignition-system-offerings-145128/

He'll sell you everything you need and he'll even answer questions

As far as what you need, you answered that already... plugs, coils, wires.

you can get the coils ands spark plug wires from www.finishlineperformance.com for 167.75 plus shipping
and the spark plugs from www.autopartswarehouse.com for 85 dollars shipped

720- 252.75 = 467.25 savings over the dealership

its not that hard to change them, after u get the plugs in. go find the right spark plug socket at ur local auto parts store. (I forgot the size of it)

then u will need some ratchet, extension bar, 10 mm socket(this is for the coils)
