Dash light on, plz help
1 Attachment(s)
This dash light has been on since ive gotten the car almost a year ago. It goes off sometimes, but stays on most of the time. Can someone tell me what it is and how to get rid of it?

It's a coolant light. If it's an 04-05 I believe it's a common problem and it's the sensor.
If you search on the forums there's a quick fix for it. |
You could just unplug to get rid of light or buy a new coolant tank and replace it. (it will include a new tank and sensor). Mazmart could be a starting place and they have a new tank with sensor for about 125 or find cheaper some where else.

Yay, another stupid thread on this topic.

First, you have to go to www.mazdausa.com. Then, hover your cursor over the link for Owners at the top of the page. This will bring up several choices, one of which is Manuals And References. Click on that one. Then, you choose what year, and what model of car you own, and click on the submit button. Then, on the next page, you will get a link to your owners manual. You can open it up, and then save a copy of it to your computer. Or, you can transfer a copy of it to a flash drive, and take it to Kinko's, and have them print you a nice copy of it that you can then keep in your car. BC. |
Oh, and one more thing:
CHECK YOUR COOLANT LEVEL!!!!! BC. |

CHECK YOUR COOLANT LEVEL!!!!! BC. CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL TOO!!! It may be completely unrelated, but if you are too dumb to find out what the coolant light is in a year then I have doubts about you understanding the basic principle of rotaries burning oil, and the related principle of checking oil every other fill up. Sorry to flame, but you could have destroyed your engine from this. |

I'm amazed at how far down in the responses this is. Even more amazed that someone would drive around for a year with a mystery dash light on. Seeing those two things I have another suggestion:
