Correlation...

Maybe this correlation has already been made ages ago and is lost in pages of flames and/or irrelevance. If not, here is my recent discovery of a chain reaction:

1) My AC condensation was coming into the cabin and draining on my passengers. It drained on me when I cornered extremely hard the other direction:rock: Search "duck lips" for a very detailed location and fix.

2) Since I heard condensation water hitting the fans blades of the blower motor one can safely assume water was at some point reaching the blower motor. This explains why when I replaced my blower motor there was no lube whatsoever AND the motor had actually rusted inside its case. It was fragged!

3) My blower motor resistor was bad too, (fusible link-esque piece of solder melted instead of the actual resistors) Thank you for offering the detailed fix on this too.

So the duck lips clogged up and caused water to come inside the cabin and frag the blower motor which in turn fragged the blower motor resistor. I can't think of "the moral of the story" but there is a bad joke there some where... Or maybe at least a naughty Irish Limerick...

Let's discuss this to countermeasure this chain reaction of events that has eaten 5 hours of my time, 65 bones on a blower motor and solder. Granted, if I had of gone to the dealer for this I would be looking at a parts tab of $500+ and labor north of $300.

My initial thought is to get a length of clear vinyl tube (clear for easy inspection) and insert it into the duck lips securing it with glue or silicon sealant so water drains down and away (avoiding the Wide Band O2 sensor wire harness and starter) yet the tube should not be prone to clogging OR is more easily accessible if it does clog. What cha think?
