Coolant leak from rear of engine !!!!

Hi guys i own a 2004 AT lately i notice coolant leaking from under the car, i have checked radiator, hoses, cant seem to find the issue, the coolant seems to be dripping from the rear of the engine where the trans ans and motor joins, can someone help? :banghead:

Could be one of the frost plugs...or the heater hoses are back there too ....

Check the heater hoses first...much more likely :)

One heater hose on passenger side firewall to passenger side front of motor

Other heater hose from firewall to engine under the oil filter area on the drivers side rear. Could also be the crossover pipe if it has a leak as well....

Thanks Dannobre, will check, do you know of a diagram or where can i get some pics, of what i will be looking for or what they should look like ,

thanks

Heater hoses are black rubber about 1 inch outside dia....they have silver or dark steel colored spring clamps on them. If they are leaking that much you should see it between the rubber and the metal pipe

There are three large and two small freeze plugs on the back of the rear iron, you will have to drop the trans and torque converter assembly to reach/repair them

Thanks teamRX8 i had a feeling it would be something like that, what do you think cause these plugs to go, the engine has less than 26000 on it , where can i order the plugs from, im located in the caribbean islands, our local mazda dealer is not interested in selling the Rx's so when itcomes to parts or services it becomes a "Do it your self "

I'm not entirely sure that they are all coolant system plugs, nor can I be sure this is where your leak is from. You have to make sure that the coolant leak is not coming from somewhere else and showing itself at that particular spot. There are a number of places near the back of the engine where coolant can leak and possibly dribble down to drip off at the point shown in your pic. There are dyes that can be added to the coolant which will illuminate with a UV/black light to assist with tracing down the leak source.

does anyone knows the P# for these freez plugs?

I'm afraid that it is impossible to tell from those pictures what or where the leak is coming from

Usually coolant leaks don't rust that badly...you sure it's not something else?
