Coolant leak no overheat, tstat?
Last week i smelled coolant so i brought my car into the hobby shop on post. The thermostat housing was leaking where the larger hoses make the connection. I cleaned up a bunch of corrosion and no more leaks. Until about a hour later. I inspected it and noticed that it was the fitting on the top of the radiator. I cut the broken fitting off and then tossed in a aluminum hose fitting and used a butload of epoxy(no rads on island, shipping my car on monday). The next day i started the car and was bleeding the cooling system it took a really long time to get heat, longer than usual.
Still have a leak but it looks like its spraying out of the radiator upper coolant hose. Looks like it happens fast and is high pressure. My car isnt overheating. Could i have a t stat that opens and closes when it wants to? Any ideas? |
