Coolant in the Air Intake...WTF..!

Hey everyone long time no speak.

So my girlfriend and I both have an rx8...mine is at 58K miles and running strong...no problems HAHA!

Not so good for my girl tho...she has only 35K miles and is already experiencing many problems with hers.

1st....her coolant light shows everyone once in a while

2nd....the light for the tire pressure continues to blink...the owners manual says that if the light comes on and stays on...its because tire pressure is low....if the light blinks constantly..then its a problem and take it to the dealership. Well dealership sort of blew this part off and said its no biggy.. ok whatever..

Now back to the coolant thing....about 2 weeks ago...she took it to the dealership for the light turning on...they said her coolant was low....therefore they filled it for her..and that was that. A week or so later...her light came back on again...so finally finally she got tired of it and took it to the dealership again...they fed her some bullsh*t and told her not to worry about it...before she was able to drive away her car began smoking up from the under the right side of the front hood.
Now the car had to stay overnight at the dealership so they can check to see what is causing this...the mechanic told me that he found coolant in the air intake...HOW THE HELL IS THIS POSSIBLE...?!?! I mean..I am not a huge car expert but I do know a few things about how to keep a car in good shape...and I really dont see how the coolant could have found its happy ass into the air intake...

Any feedback..?? Thanks a lot!

It CAN"T. Combustion gases can enter the cooling system, but coolant in the intake. NO.
One way for it to happen is for it to get sucked up the air intake due to the radiator having a leak and spraying coolant out by the intake. And then the intake sucking it up. I guess that it's possible under the perfect circumstances. This is the only way it's possible.

The "Low Coolant Light" is a common problem umong us RX-8 owners. The sensor in the coolant reservoir malfunctions/breaks very easily. Alot of us on this board have this malfunction. The only way to replace it is to replace the entire coolant reservoir assembly which is a pain in the arse, also, it should be covered under warranty.

As for your TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), it flashes means that there's a broken TPMS or she's on aftermarket wheels with no TPMS in them.

I have both these problems. :)
