Clutch Noise
 

Hello guys, I just noticed on my rx8 a weird noise. I can't notice it's there when I first turn the car on but when I press the clutch pedal I can hear a weird noise go away, if I let go of the clutch pedal I can hear it again. I can't really tell the difference when on gears. Anyone have an idea of what that can be or is that normal?

If it's kind of.a chirping noise or light squeek it's nothing to worry about. It's a bearing going bad, or sqeeking. I had the same thing wrong on my car and the dealer told me to wait until I needed a new clutch. When I got my engine replaced I had them put in a new clutch and I didn't have to pay for the labor.

You spend the money to fix the noise, but it'll run you close to a grand.

Yeah, I don't know how to explain the noise I just know that when I push the clutch in it goes away and the sound is smooth, if I let go of the pedal it sounds a little weird. If its no big deal I'll just wait until I have to replace the clutch than. What do you think?

Does it go away within the first few inches of pressing in the clutch? That's what mine did and the dealer told me not to worry about it, unless I really just wanted to spend some money :lol2:

Of course that's saying you have the same problem as I did ;)

I had a similar probably but mine was more of a high-pitched whining... AFTER a new clutch. went away in 100 miles or so.
