Clutch and frozen gears

Yesterday my car's gears froze when I stopped at a light and smoke began pouring out. Up to that point there had been no noise or slipping of the clutch, which I am told is the outcome, along with the pressure plate, pilot bearing, release fork and a pivot. The explanation was the throwout bearing seized onto the nose cone and shredded it. There was also no insulation where the heat shield next to the drive shaft.

I have been complaining for almost a year that "you can boil water in my cup holder" and was told this is common in the RX8.

The same dealership has done a maintainence check every 3000 miles when they did an oil change.

A large part of the car has been replaced from recalls and defective parts.

Mazda stepped up after a great deal of complaining and extended the warranty to 100,000 miles.

There is 86,000 on it and I am being told the parts in question are not covered.
I believe they should be.

I have never driven a car that the clutch has gone without warning. Can anyone shed some light on thois situation or am I just going to have to pay the large bill?
