clutch failure today?

a few days ago my 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th shifts started to grind on downshift and upshifts and i thought maybe the synchros could be a problem or possibly the recently added motul gear oil could have been causing it so i switched to mobil fully synthetic that day but the problem persisted.i drove back and forth to work over the past couple days and the problem remained.when shifted at low rpm no grindage at all so i figured it wouldnt be catastrophic if i took it back and forth to work a few days before further inspection.work is a pretty short distance for me..less than 5 miles.i noticed a gear oil smell with the windows down.i read on a search here that could be a seal for the shifter and could get damaged if filled through the top.i went from the bottom when filling.today as im pulling up to a stop sign my clutch pedal went straight to the floor and i couldnt get any gear to engage.i was a half mile from home and luckily where i was had slight grade so i was able to coast up to speed where i could smoothly engage into first clutchless.do you guys think it would be the pressure plate or springs?keep in mind that the clutch is only a year old and that its an ACT 6 puck with pro lite flywheel..also a braided clutch line so fluid shouldnt be an issue.also there was no harsh engagement or any wot gear changes at high rpms when this took place as well..im really hoping for an easy fix.ive got way too much wrapped up in this turd to begin with..haha:fingersx:

im running 7.5 lbs boost throughout all this but its an ACT 6 puck clutch kit...supposedly it states to with hold somewhere around 400 lb ft..clearly our cars dont make torque like a LS3 or anything so i assumed to be well within the capabilities of the clutch.im not one that often misses shifts, grinds gears,or is what i would consider to suck at driving.i havent smelt the clutch once since it was installed about a year ago.

This sounds like a failed clutch cylinder to me. Are you sure it's not low on fluid?

visually the slave cylinder seems to have proper fluid

do some reading on broken clutch brackets. Most likely your clutch issue.

Use redline fluids for your tranny and diff. People haven't had much luck with Mobil1 stuff in our cars and others.

A little searching should give you the specifics that you need.

i used the search engine and found a great thread showing pics and a walkthrough of the clutch pedal bracket and it turns out thats what my problem is.thanks fuztupnz...did a search on ebay and found the factory bracket and an upgrade kit for it at $75 from rotary rx...think ill do the upgrade now as it looks like it wont be real easy replacing the assembly..
