Clogged lower intake manifold
So I was tearing my engine down earlier when I took off the lower intake manifold. Does this look bad to you guys.. :yesnod:
http://s29.postimg.org/5hy4ap55z/14_1.jpg The left side has so much build up that I couldn't even press my finger through it. I don't care so much about fixing it since I just bought a new engine, but what would cause this crazy amount of buildup? |
Typically with high mileage yes.

Because the old engine had bad seals on that side for a long time while you continued to drive it that way.

I have similar carbon buildup...but good compression. Am I missing something. |
then perhaps you can possibly explain for us why one side is fubar and the other not

Hello everyone .. maybe not the real place for my first post (reading the 8club since 2008) but ...
the APV on the left side has its "open" port on the other side and vice versa... ...sorry for my bad english :eyetwitch Greetings Thomas edit: What i want to say is .. nothin is clogged ... look on the other side of both sliding cylinders... |

Gee, I had no idea :eyetwitch ....
but really, the only mistake I made was trusting your own words as a valid analysis:
