Check Engine Light - CEL

HeHe

I removed one of my fuses (in foot well, passenger side) to check the type so I can buy some spares. It was the interior room light fuse (15A)

I then turned the engine on and got a check engine light for the very first time.

I turned the engine off and on about 4-5 times and the CEL cleared.

Is the RX8 that sensitive that it will throw a CEL when you remove a single fuse? The manual says that the vehicle will produce a CEL if there is an electrical problem with the vehicle.

Anyone else had a CEL from taking fuses out , disconnecting batteries etc?

Cheers

Removing the ROOM fuse resets the PCM

Cheers for that. So I guess thats what caused check engine light to display.

It has cleared now, but I was wondering how you clear the memory of fault codes.

Cheers

Disconnect the battery for ~15min.

the cel light was on when i bought rx8 two months ago. when i went to the garage the mechanic said that two of the ignition coils are burnt (coil b and d). i chaged them and after 2 days the cel light reappeared. I again went to the garage and found out that 2 other coils were burnt this time coil (a and c) and in that way all the coils were replaced within 2 weeks...today i went for ride and when i started the car i saw cel again and i'm sure that its again the ignition coil problem, i've just done around 200 miles on it and I have no idea why the coils are burning again and again.....................please help :(
