Changed fuel pump now won't start

Hi folks,
I just changed out my fuel pump and now the car won't start at all.

New fuel pump is priming upon key turn and cranking, but she hasn't even hinted at possibly starting. I removed the new pump and bench-tested it and it tested fine, so I put it back in. No change, no start.

Could it have flooded?

Is there a restart procedure I need to follow? I have done pump changes before, and expected it to quickly start after 10 seconds or so of priming it to repressurize the system. Also, I have never had flooding issues, new OEM coils about a year ago. 2007 model.

Any help appreciated!

d!

Sounds very much like it .

Follow the de-flood procedure in the manual

Well it's not flooded!
I pulled the plugs and not even a hint of fuel.

Will try putting the old pump back in and see if it fires up. (I changed since it was showing fuel starvation at the track but was fine for day to day driving)

In changing out the pump, I had to change out the fuel hose that goes from the pump to the bowl.

I thought "perhaps" why it wouldn't start is that the new hose was kinking from the tight bend that this hose requires. So I got a better, thinner braided fuel hose and it took the bend much better. So I reinstalled the assembly figuring it would fire right up. Still no start.

I then disconnected the line from the assembly that goes to the engine (the one with the green clip ring). No fuel came spurting out at me so it obviously wasn't pressurizing the line. I left it disconnected and cranked the key. It took about a second of the pump running before fuel finally came gushing out. I reconnected that line and it started on first try.

So, not sure if all of this was caused by an air lock not allowing the system to prime, but it's all fixed up now.
