Cel reset
 

Can anyone tell me the best way to reset the CEL? the problem is that on the day of thanksgiving my oil light came on and i couldnt buy any because stores were closed. so i couldnt do anything about it, so i decided to wash my car and after i was finished CEL came on. well after driving for a while it went off and hasnt came back on until yesterday night. i was just drivin around and pulled into taco bell got somethin to eat and when i turned it back on CEL was on. sometime last week i noticed that some oil was getting into my intake box, so i took it apart cleaned most of the oil i took the intake sensor out and wasnt able to clean it right because i didnt have anything to clean it with, so basically just got most of the oil out and the next day got an oil change. everythings fine up to this point. so my CEL is on and i thought it was that same sensor so i bought a air dustor to try and clean it after i was done light is still on. Any ideas?? Car seems to run just fine no problems

disconnect the battery for 30 minutes

get the code from the CEL

yes, if it comes back again which it will if something is actually wrong

30minutes makes the difference? i disconnected it the first time it happend for like 30 seconds and light was still on, btw im a little confused on how the codes even work like when im told to get the code.
