CEL light- does resetting affect traction control?

I have a 04 rx8 with 58k on it and just had the coils and plugs replaced about a month ago at a mazda dealership and now the CEL has come on. I know this is a common issue. I was going to try and reset it by unhooking the battery for a few mins but I was wondering if this affects the traction control and if I would have to reset that?

you should get the code pulled ot make sure it's not a new issue.
if you unplug the battery, it shouldn't affect the TC.

does autozone pull codes for free?

they usually do.

+1 on getting the code pulled first.

If you unplug the battery, the TC will flash at you until it relearns itself. You can do this by simply turning the wheel to the left and right after starting it back up.

You could have your read your Owners Manual. Much wisdom it contains.

pulled the code at autozone and it looks like it's just a bad gas cap. So hopefully that will fix it
