CEL on for Air Intake Sensor

So my 8 is under warranty and I want to see if I can repair it myself. Its giving me a code for the air intake sensor which is right on top of the engine. It also gives me a code for the catalyst system because of the sensor, which is making it dump in a little more fuel than it should be.

My question is, if I can get the part for free because of warranty but would have to pay labor, how do I replace the air intake sensor myself so I dont pay anything?

Im a cheap ass right now, my job sucks, and Im part time...
Thanks

Difficult to tell for sure without knowing the code... you could be talking about the MAF or the air pump.
If its failing the MAF, try to clean it with contact cleaner.
Here is a DIY I made for that:

I think its the IAT, I took it into work (I work in a shop) and a guy had a really nice tester, which came up as Air Intake Sensor and Catalyst. He told me basically the catalyst system was putting in more fuel than it should because the air sensor is giving wrong readings. Im not sure if he meant the air temp or mass air flow... But I think IAT would make more sense of my problem.

The IAT and MAF is on the same housing... so clean them both and see if that helps.
Disconnect the battery for a few to clear the CEL once you do that also.

Alright, what kind of cleaner do you suggest using on them?

Autozone sells MAF cleaner for a couple dollars.

I know you want to learn how to work and repair your car, but if your still under warranty i would bring it to the dealer. Since you under warranty it covers the part/parts and labor you do not pay a dime.

Okay, so I did everything the way I was supposed to. The CEL isnt on yet so it could have worked, I only started it and rev'd it a little. But after I connected the battery and started it, the DSC light is on and blinking, and wont shut off. Whats the problem now?? :(

Nothing is wrong start the car and turn the wheel all the way to the right then all the way to the left, and after you drive a little bit all the lights will be off

Alright, I figured that would fix it, I havent drove it yet but I was just about to. Because I figured the computer would have to relearn the stuff... Thanks though :)
