CEL after bucking/stuttering... UGH.
 

So it all started one day when I was driving to a friends house and I was just getting on the highway and decided to give it a little thrashing in 3rd gear. I felt a little stutter around 7k rpms. I shift into 5th and decided to try it again. I threw it in 3rd, accelerated and it did again, except this time the CEL came on and flashed for about 5-10 seconds (can't remember how long) and it went out. On the way I went on some backroads and wailed into it in 2nd gear and got the same stutter, but no CEL the first try. Second try triggered it and it flashed again, and quickly went out.

Got to my friends and took him for a ride to check out the problem and it stopped doing it... On the way home it didn't do it once. Next day on the way to work I let into it a little bit and I got the same stutter as before and the CEL stayed on. After work I started up the car and the CEL turned off. That was the last I had the problem until yesterday.

I was driving home from work and I got off of the highway, turned left and got into second and I got a weird bucking at around 4500-5000 rpms... I left off and tried it again and it wasn't as severe. I got home and didn't run it that night. Then today I started driving to work and now I have the stutter I had before at 4.5k rpms and 7.5k rpms! CEL came on, blinked, stopped blinking, but stayed on... Still on now and I still get the same stutter throughout the rev range.

Could it be a clogged cat? Bad coils? Needs new spark plugs? Port sticking? Has 68k miles, bought it with 30k and haven't changed the sparks or coils yet, which is why i'm thinking it could be coils... Ugh any help would be appreciated.

your blinking CEL means youre have misfires...you need to change your coils/wires/ and plugs

your next question is probably gonna be on where to get em...

Haven't. Not in the 38k miles I've been running it. Thought I might be able to make it to 70k, but I guess not :(

^wow im suprised yours are barely goin out...mine plugs went out at 35k and my coils went out at 50k

Wheres the cheapest place online to buy plugs and coils?

Show us a pic of your plugs when you change them. Places all over the forum for parts. I got plugs, coils, wires, for about $250(OEM).
