Car won't start is it covered under warranty

Well I drove my car to work it was running fine fully warmed when I got there but when I got off work my car would not start. The battery is charged but I will not turn over. I can't see why it would be flooded if my car ran fine and was warmed when I turned it off? For a while my engine light has been on and my car was not running a hundred percent but making it by. Has anyone have similar problems like mine? My engine is modified and my exhaust is all aftermarket but no force induction will my car still be covered under the hundred thousand mile warranty? I started to use Shell gas with the nitrogen additive do you think that will cause the problem? I was using 93 octane the whole time with no problems but with my second tank of the Shell gas I have had this problem with not it not starting for the first time. Does anyone have any info on engine warranty and my starting problems?

Warrenty will not cover it.

Your cell light has been on for long time.

Get the code reader.

Guess I don't have to tell them it has been on for a while?

swoope 03-27-2009 06:03 AM

wow,

year, mileage, auto or manual.

how can we help you.. you say the it does not turn over.. well if the motor does not spin you have a not charged enough battery.

as to what is covered. the answer is in you glove box.

Your engine is modified? . . . I'm not really sure what that means....

Anyway, pull the code. This sounds like its the usual suspects though: plugs; coils; poss. flooded now...

Well as of now my car is at the Mazda dealership and with my own inspection gas is leaking out of my fuel injectors. Why? the tuner shop I took it to most likely did not install them correctly and over time they got loose and leaked gas everywhere. I normally do most of my work myself so I know it is done right but decided not to take on installing my injectors guess I need to take a mechanic class or go to UTI so I don't have to depend on performance shops that don't know what they are doing costing me more money.

Leaking gas out of your fuel injectors will not cause your engine not to turn over. If your engine does not crank, you have a dead battery or a loose connection. You could have a bad alternator which would drain your battery causing it not to crank.

The leaking of gas is another problem, but not related. I would look at altenator, battery and electrical connections. Or maybe the gas got on something it shouldnt have. Who knows. Good Luck with the dealer.

you can install mods to your car, if the engine stop working, its still covered, safe mods like intake is safe, and exhaust, turbo no supercharger no, any other thing then that is fine

the obd2 protocol will telll them however long that CEL light has been on...

why would you drive your car with an existing problem....

sigh

Bend over and get ready for a nicely sized invoice when it's all done.

Since your engine is "modified" (though you didn't mention what), it's not covered under the warranty if that fact would be at all visible to the Techs. Leaking fuel injectors would probably get them thinking to check a little deeper at least.

You can't just not tell them the CEL has been on for a while. The FFD will tell them exactly how long the CEL has been on, what it's on for, and exactly what you were doing when it came on.

Even if the engine wasn't modified, the fact that you've been driving around for a CEL on for a "while" is grounds enough for them to deny warrany coverage.

did anyone ever think about asking TEKNICS?

I have a red top Optima battery which is charged my 8 is turning but won't start. Everything powers up like normal no sight or sound of the battery being low but everytime I do crank it gas is coming out my fuel injectors pooling on my engine block and on the ground from a quarter of a tank to almost empty with the yellow light on from just cranking the car! I had aftermarket fuel injectors install months ago but had them take it out because they could not install the Greddy emange(blue) so now I have the stock fuel injectors in with new fuel injector seals. They guy apparently installed them incorrectly cause now gas is leaking out of them! That is problem so if they tell me otherwise they are just trying to get more money out of me which they won't I will just do it myself or take it somewhere else that will make sure everything is tightened and secure to specs.

My engine has no turbo or supercharger but has other mods cold air intake, pulleys, Nology wires, full exhaust headers on back etc. and my engine light comes on and off depending on the weather! So can they tell the times it has been off and on? I don't think I need a new engine or it is coming to its near end it is caused by incompetent mechanics that need to admit they don't need to work on cars they know nothing about! Lesson learned ether do it myself or take it to a rotary specialist!:icon_no2:

Yeah I did then I am glad that is done and over with! Good news for me though I am picking up my 8 tomorrow and it is only a hundred dollars at the Mazda Dealership! I was suprised like I said it was the half ass job the mechanic did on my fuel injectors they were loose and Mazda fixed it and told me it is holding its pressure so there are honest mechanics out there!:patriot:
