Car turns right without effort, hard to turn left

The car will turn right very effortlessly, infact its too easy to turn right. When i go to turn left its pretty damn hard to.

Just started happening today

EDIT: PS light is now on after unplugging the 60A fuse (fuse next to battery) and now i have no steering. Checking the connections under the coolant overflow but for some reason there are no connectors there

Take a look through this thread first, then this one.

I had the same symptoms and after cleaning all the electrical connections. Just re-greasing the u-joint solved all of my problems. I really gobbed up the grease around the joint and its been great for months. Its definitely not a permanent fix as RIWWP states, but its lasted me this long. Ideally i'd love to cover the whole joint in a boot like in most cars but I haven't gotten around to it. Maybe when it starts acting up again.

PS light is on now

LOL, then forget everything I just said and grab yourself some electrical contact cleaner and dielectric grease. I'll try and find the DIY I followed that outlines each connector involved that needs to be disconnected, cleaned, greased and re-connected.

Worst case scenario its a failed rack but I doubt it.

EDIT.. then again, I found all that info by searching, and so can you.

yeah I think its more likely to be the harness.

Do you have to pull out the airbox (i believe thats next to the battery and in between the fuse box?) to see that harness/connectors?

rickeo 04-17-2013 09:01 PM

No, but if you're looking to actually work with the harness, yes.

well in that case it looks my connectors have been rerouted? I can see below the coolant resivor and the air box and theres no connectors down there.

pulled the connectors, cleaned em and greased em, very easy to do btw. I have limited tools and was in a parking lot and it still was a breeze to do. Everythings good to go!
