Car stalling while driving...
I'm having a problem where when I'm driving my RX8 it will sometimes stall. Right before it stalls it studders like it's not getting any fuel, and this usually happens in the lower RPM's. I can prevent it from stalling by pressing down on the gas more, it will jerk a bit before going smooth. When it does stall the check engine and battery light will come on, however they turn off when I start up the car again. It has no trouble starting and doesn't stall when it is idling. The stalling seems to come in spurts, like I will be driving fine for 30 minutes, then it will stall a few times, then be fine again.
If anyone has any ideas what could be causing this or what to check, I would really appreciate any input. I'm thinking I put some bad non-premium gas in, but I'm not sure if that would cause this or not. |
Please give us all the details. The service it's had and parts replaced. Miles, model, year, type of driving it gets(short trip, long commutes), fuel used, oil type and consumption, ever flooded, red lined. Just any thing that will help us help you.

exact same problem for me a few weeks ago with my 2004, eliminated plugs, coils, cat. Compression test was crap and ended up getting a new engine under warranty. Think problem was somewhat related to flooding though because i was getting all the symptoms of partial flooding - are you getting this too? Ie hard to start at times? Miles, model, year would be useful...
