Car sluggish at Low RPM
 

Hi there. I'd posted this under the general tech section before noticing this section on issues.

I have a 2004 MT with 56000 km on it.

Recently (past few weeks) it has been acting sluggish/hestitant at Low RPM. Bogs down and the throttle response is not smooth until I hit about 4RPM then it takes off.

It also takes a few seconds of cranking to start, and has gotten worse the past few days.

Starting out on a hill is very sluggish and the car nearly stalls.

I still have the original plugs/coils/wires. When I called the garage to make an appointment, the tech manager said it might be the plugs and suggested new ones at that mileage.

Any thoughts? I'm hoping it just needs new plugs or coils, and this isn't an actual engine/exhaust problem.

I see a few other simliar threads with this sort of problem and it normally seems to be a plug/coil issue.

^that a good start ;)...get new coils/wires and plugs...you can do em yourself and save money, there are DIYs on here for that type of stuff...also you can get your coil and plugs for a lot cheaper than your dealership if you do some research

Plugs, wires, and coils are always a place to start.
Also check the battery connections to ensure they are secured.
We tend to get a wave of issues that end up being the battery connections from time to time.

heres my diy for the coils, soooo easy took me about 15 minutes TOPS to finish all four
